President and Chief Executive Officer
An Illinois native, Tim O'Rourke grew up in North Carolina and received his BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He had a 14-year banking career included management positions in Systems/Programming, Operations Research, Human Resources, and Marketing. He has also chaired Marketing, Operations, and Asset/Liability Management Committees with banks. In addition, Mr. O'Rourke completed the North Carolina Bankers Association's Advanced Management Program, and has received the American Compensation Association's Certified Compensation Professional designation. He has published numerous articles on banking subjects and frequently speaks at business forums. O’Rourke was one of the founding directors of the Triangle, NC Chapter of the American Marketing Association and served as its second President. He was also one of the original members of the Board of NorCaCHA, the North Carolina Automated Clearing House through which banks clear electronic transactions.
In 1984, he joined Matthews, Young & Associates, Inc., the firm's parent organization, and in 1988, Mr. O'Rourke was named a Principal of Matthews, Young. As a Principal of the 39-year-old firm, O'Rourke managed a variety of cases for financial institutions, service firms and manufacturing concerns. O'Rourke has led a team in developing automated compensation surveys for banking trade associations across the southeast.
In 1996, O'Rourke was named President and CEO of the firm. In his current role, he is responsible for leading and developing a team of senior consultants and for managing numerous client relationships. O’Rourke also handles the firm’s marketing and information systems.

Mike O’Rourke co-founded M.Y. Edge Digital Marketing Integration as a Division of Matthews, Young & Associates, Inc. in 2010, after almost 3 years working at a digital advertising agency, to help organizations take full advantage of the internet to grow business by integrating targeted and accountable digital marketing methods into their greater marketing mix.
During his agency tenure, Mike managed Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising campaigns for clients from several countries in a variety of industries including real estate, human resources, information marketing, and eCommerce, while earning certification as a Google Analytics Qualified Individual, a Google AdWords Qualified Professional, and a Yahoo Search Marketing Ambassador. Mike was also heavily involved in working with potential clients to identify weaknesses and untapped potential in their online advertising efforts, and helping them develop a sound strategy for deploying PPC advertising, web analytics, and usability optimization.
In helping businesses determine the best course of action to take with their web advertising, Mike realized the tremendous need for strategic planning and integration across digital channels in the current market. He left the agency life to co-found M.Y. Edge to demystify the web for businesses who know they need to get online, but lack the time and technical expertise.
Mike currently works with businesses and non-profits to leverage more targeted, efficient, and accountable integrated marketing systems and to increase their return on investment online.
